About Us
Founded in 2017, Youth Taking Flight continues to provide engaging learning experiences for youth ages 12-24 in the fields of Aerospace and Aviation, Computer and Digital Literacy, Workplace Skills Development, along with Leadership and Mentorship Training. As a youth led organization, YTF promotes youth participation in every aspect of program planning and delivery.
Our Mandate
- To provide affordable programs for youth
- To develop youth leaders and mentors.
- To create a platform for youth to network, share ideas, and build positive support systems
- To work with youth, particularly those at risk, to promote positive self-development
- To achieve gender parity in all programs promoting involvement of girls in STEM
- To promote the increased involvement and participation of black, indigenous and youth of colour in STEM learning
- To expose youth to new pathways and potential careers in STEM
